S-E-C speed my ass!

Who am I to doubt the Center for Disease Control?

I just ran across this headline on the USA Today website:

Southerners still most obese, CDC says

[CHUCKLE]

Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee lead the nation when it comes to obesity, a new government survey reported Thursday. More than 30% of adults in each of the states tipped the scales enough to ensure the South remains the nation's fattest region.

Why is the South so heavy? The traditional Southern diet high in fat and fried food, like this fried chicken sold at Pampy's Creole Kitchen in New Orleans (pictured) may be part of the answer, said Dr. William Dietz.

Certainly this information would seem to fly in the face of what we've been told lately by the national media as it pertains to college football. I guess we all assumed that "SEC speed" referred to players' abilities on the field. What we didn't realize is that "SEC speed" more universally refers to the rapidity with which fat-bodied southerners can locate the nearest buffet.

By the way, you're slippin' Ohio! Not even in the Top 10? Get your ass to Wendy's stat people!

Soooooo, is it the obesity or the speed that the Bucks can't beat? I'm confused...
