Good offense, bad defense? Maybe you should balance the ledger you idiots.

With a not-at-all shocking report, the Columbus Dispatch's Bob Hunter points out that the mighty Cincinnati Bengals had one of the largest disparities between what they paid the offensive players and what they paid the defensive players last season.

In an article on sports salaries in its July 14 issue, Sports Illustrated has a chart showing that the Cincinnati Bengals' payroll has the most imbalance between offense and defense in the NFL.

Cincinnati spends 61.17 percent of its payroll on offense and 38.83 on defense. The New York Giants and New England Patriots, who met in the Super Bowl in January, were among the most balanced teams in the league. Both spent about 53 percent on offense.

Shocking. Defense wins championships you morons.

We'll see if first round draft pick Keith Rivers out of USC (pictured) can tip those scales in the right direction.
